Publicity push for $26m advocacy network

An official opening has been held for the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) to help boost its profile, following more than $26.5 million in funding announced for the network this year. The network, made up of nine state and territory based service delivery organisations, delivers free advocacy, information and education services to older people and their representatives. Earlier this year the Government announced OPAN would receive $25.7 million over the next three years to deliver the new National Aged Care Advocacy Program, with a focus on helping people to understand their rights.
