On Tuesday, we’re incredibly excited to be joined on the podcast by Paola Barbarino, the CEO of Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI).
ADI are the global leaders of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia awareness movement, representing over 100 national associations all the way to the highest stages of international co-operation – The United Nations and World Health Organisation.
Paola and her team are tireless in their work supporting organisations like Dementia Australia, Alzheimer’s UK and Alzheimer’s Association (USA) and providing resources for people diagnosed and living with dementia, their families, carers, clinicians, NGOs and Governments.
Both World Alzheimer’s Month and Dementia Action Week have just wrapped up, so we’re releasing this episode now in a bid to keep the conversation and momentum going.
- Why is awareness still so important in developed countries like the UK and Australia?
- Why should our immediate focus be on the journey to diagnosis and beyond?
- How has the Covid pandemic affected diagnosis and what’s the perfect storm that’s on the horizon?
- How can passionate advocates drag reluctant Governments to change?
Paola provides great insights into all of this and much more. We hope you enjoy this episode and if you do, then share your feedback with us via a review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. It means a great deal to the show and will make it easier for other potential listeners to find us.
