Amana Living has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Carr AM as its new Board Chair, commencing 13th April 2026.
Ms Carr will succeed Sue Wilson, who concludes her term after nine years on the Board, including four and a half years as Chair and two years as Deputy Chair.
Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Buckland acknowledged Ms Wilson’s contribution.
“Sue has been a steady and strategic guide for Amana Living, and her governance expertise, shaped by senior leadership roles in mining, banking and education, has strengthened our organisation immeasurably. We are deeply grateful for her commitment and the stable foundations she leaves for the next phase of our growth.”
Ms Carr, who joined the Board in May 2025, brings extensive experience across government, major technology and infrastructure projects, education, and not‑for‑profit leadership, including aged care.
She currently chairs the Waste Authority (WA), North Regional TAFE, St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School, and several audit and risk committees across WA and NSW.
Speaking about her appointment, Ms Carr shared, “I’m honoured to be stepping into the role at such a pivotal time for aged care in Australia. Amana Living is already a leader in quality and innovation, and my focus will be on steering the development of the 2027 strategic plan to ensure we continue to evolve in line with the needs and expectations of older West Australians.”
Ms Buckland said Ms Carr’s leadership will be instrumental in guiding Amana Living’s major strategic work over the next 18 months.
“Our 2027 strategy will focus on technology transformation, expanding home care,
modernising our residential aged care and retirement living communities, and ensuring
long‑term financial sustainability. Elizabeth’s vast governance experience and passion for strengthening community services will be invaluable as we continue this important
work, Ms Buckland added.
Amana Living operates more than 25 retirement living and residential aged care sites
as well as home care/respite services, group activity, and day clubs across Western Australia.
