Benetas acquires 90-bed facility in Melbourne’s south

(l-r) Therese Brown Clarinda on the Park Residential Manager, Sandra Hills OAM Benetas CEO, Marg Alexander Regional Business Manager, Cathie Wareham Transition Manager, and Verity Leith General Manager Residential Services.

Victorian not-for-profit aged care provider, Benetas, today finalised the acquisition of Clarinda on the Park, a 90 bed aged care home in the Melbourne south east suburb of Clarinda.

The acquisition sees Benetas expand its portfolio to 14 homes across the state, supporting more than 8,500 people and directly employing over 2000.

Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM said it was really important for the organisation to continue to look at ways of providing the services we are proud of, sustainably into the future.

“Clarinda on the Park is aligned with our values and strategic direction and we are thrilled to be able to continue the service for the local community for years to come,” she said.

Clarinda on the Park has offered residential aged care services to the community since 1996 and is situated less than 50 minutes drive from the Melbourne CBD.

Ms Hills said they were fortunate to have had the majority of employees of Clarinda on the Park remain in their roles and support the transition and importantly, support the residents and families through the change.

“Our team is experienced in managing mergers and acquisitions but we cannot expect a smooth transition without the consistency of those on site at the home,” she said.

“I would like to sincerely thank the staff, the residents and their loved ones for welcoming us into their community.

“We know that those providing care on the ground is the heart of everything that we do, and without exception, the team at Clarinda on the Park has been instrumental in enabling this process to be as smooth as possible.”
