Following the success of last week’s Sydney breakfast, Inside Ageing in association with Health Generation is taking the same event to Melbourne later this month.
Guests in Sydney commented on both the quality of the presentation and the networking opportunity afterwards – the first event for many in over two years.

As defined by the Australian Council on Healthcare standards, Clinical Governance is “The system by which the governing body, managers and clinicians share responsibility and are accountable for consumer care, minimising risks to consumers and for continuously monitoring and improving the quality of clinical care”.
The clinical governance system of health and/or aged care organisation, therefore, needs to be conceptualised as a system within a system. Under this model – it is important to recognise that clinical governance is of equal importance to financial, risk and other business governance and decisions about other aspects of corporate governance can have a direct effect on the safety and quality of care, and decisions about clinical care can have a direct effect on other aspects of corporate governance.
Structuring incident management systems in aged care that contribute to accurately assessing harm, and therefore risk, not only provides the leadership team and governing bodies with an accurate assessment of risk (to individuals, to the organization) but also is robust enough to provide relevant information for compliance with mandatory reporting requirements.
The event will feature Kath Eady (pictured), Clinical Governance Leader of audit and compliance advisory Health Generation, who will be on hand to provide an overview of changes and obligations aged care providers and their boards have with respect to compliance.
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 22 at Zagames House Carlton. It runs from 7.30 am to 9.30 am, with breakfast, tea and coffee served.

The format of the event is a presentation and Q&A followed by networking.
