RSL LifeCare has announced that Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, has formally accepted the role of Patron of the organisation — a historic appointment officially marked today during the 30th Field of Remembrance Dedication and ANZAC Service in Canberra.
The solemn event, held in the nation’s capital, honoured the service and sacrifice of veterans, war widows, and their families. In a moving tribute, families laid personalised symbols of remembrance, in recognition of the deep emotional and cultural legacy carried by Australia’s veteran community.
The Governor-General’s presence at the ceremony and her acceptance of the patronage reflect her own dedication to supporting veterans. As the daughter of a Vietnam veteran who served for nearly 40 years, Ms Mostyn brings a personal understanding of military service and its lifelong impact on families.
RSL LifeCare CEO, Janet Muir, welcomed the appointment with appreciation.
