Help end loneliness in your community by supporting Neighbour Day

Aged care providers are encouraged to think about how they can participate in Neighbour Day, an annual celebration of community and connection run by Relationships Australia.

This years theme, “Loneliness – what can neighbours do to create connections” recognises that people living in neighbourhoods that are highly connected enjoy, overall, higher levels of physical and mental health.

In the lead up to Neighbour Day on Sunday March 31 people are encouraged to find ways to create meaningful connections with their neighbours.

The team behind RUOK?Day are also supporting Neighbour Day and remind us it doesn’t take much to reach out to those in our community who may be feeling socially isolated.

A range of free materials can be downloaded to help people organise a successful Neighbour Day event including posters, invitations, connection cards, selfie signs and flyers. Access these resource and some helpful tips here.
