IHACPA seeks feedback on 2025–26 Support at Home Program pricing

The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) has released its Consultation Paper on the Pricing Approach for the Support at Home Service List 2025–26. The Australian Government’s Support at Home program, set to launch on 1 July 2025, will consolidate existing in-home aged care services into one simplified system to help older Australians live independently at home for longer.

The program will replace the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs. IHACPA is seeking feedback on its proposed pricing methodology, including principles, cost collection, and price benchmarking.

The consultation period is open until 5 pm AEDT on 25 October 2024. Stakeholders, including aged care providers, families, and carers, are encouraged to participate and help shape the future of in-home aged care pricing.

As more data on service costs is gathered, IHACPA will adjust its advice and explore future priorities. The Department of Health and Aged Care will remain responsible for the overall policy and funding of these services.
