Japara lists Central Coast site with 90 bed licenses

Japara is selling a property it acquired as part of the Riviera Health deal last year on the NSW Central Coast.

The Toukley site at 51 and 53 Peel Street includes a 3-bedroom house and 125 bed facility built over three levels originally constructed circa 1970.

The facility, previously run by Riviera Health Aged Care, ceased operating in May 2018 when its accreditation was revoked after it met just five out of the 44 standards.

The site, on prime water front, is expected to fetch $2.5m+ and is suitable as a 75-bed significant refurbishment or both sites are ideally suitable to redevelop to a 110-bed Greenfield redevelopment.

Japara is selling 90 of the 125 bed licenses as part of the package.

A spokesperson for Japara Property Holdings said Toukley does not fit into its strategy for the Central Coast and focus will instead be on redeveloping and improving its Wyong facility at Mardi.
