Aged care providers and leaders are reminded to act fast, with last-minute enrolments now open for two ARIIA workforce capability development opportunities commencing in February.
Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) has announced that applications will remain open until midnight ACDT on 3 February 2026 for programs starting on Monday, 23 February, marking a final opportunity to secure places.
ARIIA delivers tailored programs and short courses throughout the year, designed to strengthen workforce capability and equip aged care professionals with the skills, confidence and practical tools needed to navigate sector change and improve outcomes.
Two programs will begin later this month.
The Innovation Capability Program supports individuals working in or with aged care providers who want to rethink how services are delivered. Participants bring a project idea or organisational challenge, with ARIIA experts guiding them through solution design and development of a robust, practical project plan. The online program runs from 23 February to 5 April 2026, with full scholarships available for eligible organisations.
Also commencing on 23 February is the Retaining your Aged Care Workforce short course, which focuses on tackling workforce challenges through the strategic use of data, organisational culture and targeted retention strategies. Delivered online until 15 March 2026, the course is aimed at leaders seeking sustainable approaches to workforce stability.
ARIIA Program and Research Director Dr Rebecca Bilton said the strength of ARIIA’s capability development offerings lies in their relevance and flexibility.
“Our programs and short courses are evidence-based and designed to make a difference to how people embrace change,” Dr Bilton said.
She said ARIIA had supported more than 100 participants from over 40 organisations to complete workforce capability development training in 2025.
“In 2026, we’ll continue offering our most successful programs while launching new capability-building opportunities shaped directly by sector feedback.”
