Lenexa Medical launches in Western Australia with Valley View Residence

LenexaCARE patient monitoring system

Valley View Residence – a 64-bed facility in Collie, Western Australia, is the first aged care provider in WA to introduce LenexaCARE®, an innovative pressure injury prevention technology.

Developed by Lenexa Medical, the device is a fabric-based sensor fitted into mattresses, offering real-time monitoring of residents’ positions. LenexaCARE® was awarded highly commended in Inside Ageing’s 2022 Future of Ageing Awards for the Technology: Business category…Read more.

Pressure injuries, often preventable but costly complications, impact patients and residents, causing suffering and burdening healthcare systems. LenexaCARE® aims to alleviate this issue by providing personalised, around-the-clock monitoring. Preliminary results from pilots indicate up to a 67% reduction in residents’ time spent in at-risk positions, potentially leading to substantial cost savings and improved staff productivity for aged care providers.

“The LenexaCARE® technology will now support residents and staff with around the clock monitoring and provide our carers with resident specific insights and increased visibility of resident risk at any given time.”

Mark Sheldon-Stemm, CEO at Valley View

LenexaCARE® not only prevents pressure injuries but also lightens the load on caregivers. The technology’s integration into existing nurse call systems and potential global applicability positions it as a transformative solution for the widespread issue of pressure injuries in healthcare.
