North Qld Nanyima Aged Care joins Apollo Care

Nanyima, a not-for-profit aged care community with 51 beds, is set to join with the national provider Apollo Care, effective from October 1, 2023. Located 37 kilometres west of Mackay, Nanyima has secured Federal Government funding to construct a memory support unit on its premises.

In a statement, Rosemary Lyons, Chair of Nanyima Aged Care Inc, said that the organisation’s commitment to growth primarily motivated the decision to partner with Apollo Care.

Apollo Care is a good fit for Nanyima as it offers the project management and governance expertise we need for the future while allowing us to preserve our identity and connection to the community

Apollo Care CEO Stephen Becsi OAM welcomed Nanyima into the fold, “We’re impressed with Nanyima’s culture and want the staff and volunteers to keep doing exactly what they’re doing so well – providing excellent, relationship-centred care to the most vulnerable residents in their community.

“I’m pleased to confirm we’ll commence work on the memory support unit in 2024,” Mr Becsi added.

Just last week Apollo Care announced the acquisition of Yackandandah Health in regional Victoria, which with Nanyima takes the total number of facilities in the Apollo Care alliance to nine.
