Multiplex construction company has been appointed to build the Odyssey Chevron luxury lifestyle care community on Chevron Island in Surfers Paradise. The project, estimated at $127 million, will create around 350 construction jobs and over 100 jobs once completed in 2025.

Located between Anembo and Mawarra Street on Chevron Island, the site will feature a single tower with 19 storeys and an abundance of amenities. The project includes 167 apartments, consisting of one, two, and three-bedroom residences, with additional penthouse options for the elderly. Memory Lane, a level dedicated to seniors with cognitive impairments, will also be available.

Odyssey CEO and Founder, Phil Usher, expressed excitement about partnering with Multiplex, stating that they resonate with their values. He added that Multiplex’s understanding of the demand for quality aged care aligns with Odyssey’s vision. Glenn Robinson, Multiplex Regional Director, expressed excitement at being chosen to deliver the project and bring Odyssey’s vision for a world-class community for seniors to life.

The innovative project is expected to set a new standard for luxury living in the lifestyle and aged care sector. Odyssey plans to build the Chevron Island development to reflect the current living needs of seniors, based on feedback from their Robina community. The development will offer an ideal blend of retirement and aged care, with no waiting lists and on-site care teams delivering services as needed.

The Odyssey model is built around a resort-style environment where residents can live with dignity, independence, and respect. Couples can stay together, pets are welcome, and grandkids can have sleepovers. Mr Usher added that the project would offer a refreshing approach to what most people think aged care is, and owning a home would not be an issue when living with Odyssey.

The project is expected to up the ante with its plans for Chevron Island, as the market for luxury living in the lifestyle and aged care sector continues to soar. Odyssey Chevron promises to be a refreshing and innovative approach to aged care and retirement living, where residents can enjoy resort-style living with a full range of services at their fingertips.
