Queensland-based digital platform developer Pluss Communities has formed a strategic partnership with Bolton Clarke, Australia’s largest not-for-profit aged care provider. The collaboration aims to enhance the lives of older Australians by addressing social isolation through greater connectivity.
Pluss Communities will develop a branded smartphone app, named Buddy, for Bolton Clarke’s nationwide network of retirement living communities. Following a successful trial at Moreton Shores in Brisbane, the app facilitates easy access to event calendars, community updates, social gathering organisation, and maintenance requests, fostering a sense of community among residents.
Plus Communities won the Consumer Experience category in the 2023 Future of Ageing Awards…Read more about the entry here.
The Buddy app was well-received during the trial, fostering resident engagement, sharing of stories and photos, and providing a convenient platform for communication.
Bolton Clarke’s Digital Product Specialist, Amanda Harris, highlighted the app’s utility in updating residents about news and events while also streamlining information distribution for onsite management.
“It was incredibly successful. We had residents really engaging with the app and using it, and we saw incredible value with that and hope to continue it,” she said.
The success of the trial has prompted plans to roll out the app across more Bolton Clarke communities in 2024.
