Regis Healthcare Limited (ASX: REG) has announced the resignation of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Dr Linda Mellors, who will step down after more than six years in the role.
Dr Mellors has advised the Board that she intends to pursue a career opportunity outside the aged care sector. She will remain in her position during her six-month notice period while Regis undertakes a transition process to ensure continuity of leadership and operations.
Dr Mellors joined Regis in late 2019 and has led the organisation through a period of significant change, including the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, the COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of reforms associated with the new Aged Care Act.
Regis Chairman Graham Hodges thanked Dr Mellors for her leadership and contribution to the company and the broader aged care sector.
“Linda has guided Regis through a period of substantial transformation and growth,” Mr Hodges said. “Her leadership has delivered strong business performance alongside important investments in our people, processes and systems, ensuring a continued focus on high-quality care. She leaves Regis in a strong financial and operational position with a capable and experienced executive team.”
Dr Mellors said leading Regis had been a privilege and highlighted the organisation’s resilience and adaptability during challenging periods.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together, from navigating the global pandemic and the Royal Commission to positioning Regis for the future under the new Aged Care Act,” she said. “I thank our employees for their dedication and passion in delivering outstanding care, and I wish Regis every success in the years ahead.”
Regis has confirmed that an executive search process will commence to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer.
