SAGE study tours join Anchor Excellence

Anchor Excellence has taken over the ownership and management of the internationally recognised SAGE study tour program. SAGE, which stands for Studying and Advancing Global Eldercare, has been welcoming Australian executives’ participation for the last 17 years.

The program was established in 2006 by ThomsonAdsett, a leading architecture and interior design firm.

The SAGE program offered the industry an opportunity to maintain an overview of international design and operational trends, which assisted in the groundbreaking design of many Australian and international facilities by ThomsonAdsett.

The SAGE program will continue to be led and managed by well-respected industry executive Judy Martin.

Since its inception, the SAGE program has offered aged care and retirement living leaders the opportunity to experience and see innovative service models and collaborate with professionals globally. The program has brought a global perspective to the Australian industry in areas such as different models of care, the built environment, the workforce, consumer engagement, research, and operations.

The move aligns with Anchor’s vision to ‘create an aged care system to be proud of’ and will bring international experience, insights, and evidence-based best practice to Australia.

Cynthia Payne, Founder and Managing Director of Anchor Excellence shared in a statement that the SAGE study tours are insightful and a fantastic opportunity to see how other countries innovate and meet the world’s most highly respected industry leaders. The collaboration will extend Anchor’s capability and enable the company to bring a broader lens to the aged care sector in Australia while also showcasing its reform experience, insights, and advancements as a sector to organizations globally.

In the almost two decades it has been operating, SAGE has hosted over 450 Australian and international industry leaders on global study tours to countries including the UK, Europe, Canada, USA, China, Scandinavia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
