Melbourne-based startup SilVR Adventures has been crowned the ‘Startup of the Year’ in Victoria at the prestigious iAwards. The iAwards, celebrating its 30th anniversary, organised by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), recognises groundbreaking tech innovation and has a history of awarding successful companies like Atlassian, Wotif, Telstra Health, and WiseTech Global.

SilVR Adventures also won Inside Ageingʼs 2020 Future of Ageing Award for Technology: Health and Wellbeing.

SilVR Adventures victory marks a significant milestone for the company, which recently expanded into Singapore and New Zealand, focusing on creating shared and meaningful virtual reality experiences to combat loneliness and isolation among vulnerable populations.

“It’s a huge honour just to be a finalist, and amazing to win the award, especially considering the outstanding startups in Victoria,” said Colin Pudsey, CEO and Founder of SilVR Adventures.

The award was presented by renowned investor and entrepreneur, Steve Baxter, known for his appearances on the popular TV show Shark Tank.

Winners of the Victorian iAwards, along with other state winners, will advance to the National iAwards Ceremony scheduled for August 31st at SkyCity in Adelaide. The event aims to bring together the best in Australian tech innovation, celebrating their impact and contributions to the industry.

Best of luck to Colin and the team at SilVR Adventures from Inside Ageing…
