Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT has been named the Silver Winner in the Aged Care and Retirement Villages category at the prestigious Reader’s Digest Australia Quality Service Awards, a recognition of excellence in customer care.
The awards, held annually, celebrate organisations that go “above and beyond” to exceed customer expectations, earning what is described as the “ultimate seal of consumer approval.” Winners are determined through a national survey conducted by an independent market research agency, gathering insights from 2,500 Australians.
Participants evaluated organisations across five key service pillars: Personalisation, Understanding, Simplicity, Satisfaction, and Consistency.
Monique Reynolds, CEO of Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT, praised the efforts of the organisation’s team in achieving this significant milestone.
“This award is a testament to the commitment, care, and hard work of our teams, who support more than 4,000 clients and residents across our Residential Care, Home Care, and Retirement Living sites,” Ms Reynolds said.
“Our vision at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT is to help older people live their lives to the full. Every member of our team – from customer service staff to frontline carers – embodies this vision with a deep commitment to making a positive, meaningful difference. I’m incredibly proud of their hard work and heart, which this award recognises.”
The award was accepted by Regional Director Erin Glanville at a ceremony held on November 21 at Sydney’s Sir Stamford Hotel. Speaking at the event, Ms Glanville highlighted the importance of the recognition.
“This award reflects the voices and views of everyday Australians – the very people we are dedicated to supporting,” Ms Glanville said. “From first conversations with prospective residents, clients, and their families to ongoing care, our staff consistently place the individual at the heart of everything they do, building meaningful connections and tailoring support to meet unique needs.”
Ms Glanville added that the accolade inspires the organisation to continue its mission of enriching lives.
Reader’s Digest Australia, with a monthly readership of over 600,000, has hosted the Quality Service Awards for 11 years.
