St Ives Home Care is preparing to expand its business offerings nationally, following the appointment of David Cox as its new Chief Operations Officer.
Mr Cox, who was previously head of operational strategy at Ansell Strategic, commenced in his new role at St Ives this week.
He remains Chair of Curtin Care, a Perth-based residential care provider.
Mr Cox told Inside Ageing he has been tasked with working with the executive team to expand the company into new markets and build a portfolio of community care providers under the St Ives brand.
“St Ives has a very clear growth strategy and focus on its client offerings in home and community care, which is what drew me to the role,” he said.
“It’s all about providing efficient, personalised service and multiple services at that, not just nursing or domestic care.”
Allied health is one area the company is looking to expand into, to give community care recipients access to a suite of services.
St Ives Home Care currently operates in WA, QLD, VIC, NSW and the ACT.
Despite falling under the St Ives Group brand, St Ives Home Care is owned by Home Care Holdings, a joint venture between the RAC and Quadrant Private Equity.
Quadrant purchased its 50 per cent share last July for a figure understood to be around $150 million.
Quadrant also owns Injury Treatment Pty Ltd, a national supplier of workplace rehabilitation and ancillary clinical and prevention services in Australia, and it has a 40 per cent share in Healthcare of New Zealand Holdings, the largest home care and disability services provider in New Zealand.
The St Ives Group brand now comprises five different companies – St Ives Retirement Living, St Ives realty (real estate), St Ives Home Care, HomeCare Options (specialised home care) and ATA Training.
St Ives remain the biggest retirement village operator in Western Australia, with seven retirement villages throughout Perth and regional WA and a new village in Carine, north Perth, due to open later this year.
St Ives Group sold its residential facilities to Opal last year.
