Success of Swift Plus in aged care sees expansion into retirement living

Swift Plus

Swift Media (ASX: SW1) launched into the aged care sector in March 2020 with its Swift Plus entertainment platform. The service offers livestreaming, entertainment, sharing photos and important health and safety messaging that can be updated by the facility and shared directly into residents’ rooms.

The company has a long-history in providing streaming and entertainment solutions to the mining sector, where they provide the service to remote camps used by fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) workers.

Inside Ageing spoke with the company’s CEO Pippa Leary, who explained how their offering comes complete with both the hardware and content that is sourced directly from studios – with many movies and shows available around the same time as cinema release.

‘The immediacy of the programming is often welcomed by children who are pleasantly surprised to see their latest shows when coming to visit a grandparent/s’, she said.

Since the company launched into aged care they have agreements for installation in over 3000 rooms in more than 30 aged care and retirement living facilities. This includes an agreement with Uniting NSW/ACT to install Swift Plus in 1986 rooms and extends to include Swift’s My Family and My Community App, that faciliates communication between families and their loved ones by providing the ability to send messages and photos directly to the TV screen of those in aged care.

The App can be downloaded onto a phone or tablet device.
