Ozcare’s latest residential aged care facility on the Fraser Coast is expected to open in September, the company has confirmed.
The 154-bed facility in Kawungan will also create more than 100 local jobs.
The facility will bring Ozcare’s property portfolio – comprising a mix of retirement villages and residential aged care facilities – to 12 developments.
All are located between the Gold Coast and far north Queensland.
In addition to this, late last year the Mackay Regional Council granted Ozcare approval for a Facilitating Development grant for a 120-bed aged care facility in West Mackay.
The grant would save Ozcare $1.5m in development fees on the $30 million project.
According to a council report, the aged care facility, in Lagoons Estate in West Mackay, will provide economic activity of about $64.5 million and create 165 jobs.
