The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) has opened public consultation on the proposed Pricing Framework for Australian Support at Home Aged Care Services 2026–27, inviting stakeholders from across the aged care sector to provide feedback
The framework underpins pricing advice for the federal government’s Support at Home program, which aims to simplify and consolidate existing in-home aged care services to help older Australians live independently at home for longer.
IHACPA Chair David Tune AO PSM urged broad participation in the consultation process, encouraging input from aged care recipients, families, carers, providers, workers, peak bodies, government agencies, and the general public.
“Everyone with an interest in aged care is encouraged to engage with us and share their feedback. We want to work closely with our stakeholders to ensure our pricing advice reflects the real costs of delivering safe, high-quality services.”

The consultation paper explores critical components of the pricing framework, including pricing principles, methodologies, and necessary adjustments. IHACPA is also seeking views on data and information requirements and areas to prioritise for future pricing advice.
Feedback gathered will inform IHACPA’s final pricing framework, which sets the foundation for how it will deliver recommendations to the government on the Support at Home service list for 2026–27.
The public consultation is open until 5:00 pm AEST on Friday, 18 July 2025.
