BaptistCare will soon welcome residents and staff at aged care and retirement living communities in Drummoyne and Ashfield, following a major acquisition agreement with Presbyterian Aged Care.

BaptistCare has announced it will acquire three Presbyterian Aged Care (PAC) sites in Sydney’s inner west — including two retirement villages and a residential aged care home — marking another milestone in the provider’s national expansion.

The sites include Iona Village in Drummoyne, with eight independent living units; Pitt Wood Village in Ashfield, which has 25 units; and Minnamurra, a 66-bed aged care home also located in Drummoyne. Collectively, the three facilities are supported by more than 100 staff, all of whom will be offered ongoing employment.

BaptistCare is set to take over operations in June and says it is working closely with on-site teams to ensure a seamless transition for residents and employees.

“Our priority is to honour the legacy of care established by Presbyterian Aged Care while bringing our People First approach to support both residents and employees in this next chapter.”

BaptistCare CEO Charles Moore

PAC Executive Chair Margaret Mackenzie said the transition will be carried out with care and continuity in mind.

“We remain committed to the care of our residents and team members during this transition process,” Ms Mackenzie said. “We’re pleased to share the same values and principles with BaptistCare, ensuring the continued delivery of the high standards of care that Presbyterian Aged Care has been known for.”

This acquisition builds on the existing relationship between the two organisations. In 2024, PAC transferred its home care operations and another Ashfield-based aged care facility to BaptistCare.

The move comes as BaptistCare finalises a national merger with Baptcare (operating in Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia) and Baptist Care SA. The combined organisation now serves more than 38,000 customers and employs over 12,000 people across six states and territories.

Once the Inner West acquisition is complete, BaptistCare will operate 34 retirement villages and 50 aged care homes nationwide.
