
South Australia’s largest retirement living and ageing services provider, ECH, has announced the appointment of Richard Laidlaw as its new Head of People and Culture.
Mr Laidlaw joins the executive team and plays a key role in strengthening ECH’s people-first culture and workforce engagement strategy across its team of over 800 employees.
An accomplished leader with extensive experience across Australia, Asia and Europe, Mr Laidlaw brings a proven track record in driving sustainable business outcomes and leading large-scale cultural and organisational change. He was most recently Executive Director of People and Assurance at Uniting Communities and has held senior roles including Global Head of HR at fintech firm Bravura Solutions and People and Culture Director at law firm Wotton Kearney. His earlier career included management positions at Woolworths, Stockland, and EY.
ECH Interim Chief Executive Mark Watson said Mr Laidlaw’s appointment comes at a critical time of growth and transformation within the sector.

Mr Laidlaw, who holds a Doctor of Education from UNSW and is a Churchill Fellow and Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
