Group Homes Australia, a leader in person-centred dementia care, has officially rebranded as Videri Australia, reflecting a bold new vision to reshape how Australia thinks about dementia and ageing.

The new name, Videri means “to be seen” in Latin, representing the organisation’s longstanding commitment to recognising the individuality, dignity, and life stories of people living with dementia.

“With over 433,000 Australians now living with dementia, and projections set to exceed 800,000 by 2054, the need for new models of care has never been greater,” said CEO Leah Gabolinscy.

“Our homes are more than places of care – they are places of connection and belonging. The rebrand is a reaffirmation of our promise to ensure people living with dementia and their families are truly seen and heard.”

Founded in 2011 by Tamar Krebs, Videri Australia introduced a unique household model of care inspired by international best practice. Each home accommodates 6 to 10 residents in a warm, homelike setting that reflects everyday living, with 24/7 support from dedicated staff. Residents are supported to maintain their daily routines and participate in meaningful activities, in line with the National Aged Care Design Principles and the Royal Commission’s recommendations.

Videri also stands out for its innovative Food and Mood Program, which reimagines residents’ favourite meals using nutrient-rich ingredients tailored to individual dietary needs.

The rebrand signals Videri’s intent to scale its impact by expanding partnerships with government and industry stakeholders. “Two-thirds of people with dementia live in the community, and over half of those in permanent aged care are living with dementia. We want to see more Australians supported to live in real homes, not institutions,” Ms Gabolinscy added.

Videri’s focus on small, integrated, community-based homes represents a growing movement in aged care.
