IHACPA releases Draft Work Program and Corporate Plan 2025–26 for public feedback

The Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) has unveiled its draft Work Program and Corporate Plan 2025–26, inviting public feedback on key activities that will shape healthcare and aged care funding in Australia.

Stakeholders across the sector are encouraged to review the draft and provide input before the consultation closes on Monday, 31 March 2025.

The draft plan outlines several major priorities for the coming year, including:

• Investigating intensive care unit funding and Indigenous adjustment reviews.

• Assessing virtual models of care and their funding arrangements.

• Reviewing organ donation, retrieval, and transplantation costs and pricing.

• Implementing updated national coding classifications, including the ICD-10-AM and Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups Version 12.0.

• Advancing the multi-stage project on a new patient-level non-admitted care classification.

• Developing pricing advice for the new Support at Home Program and consulting on its Pricing Framework.

• Providing recommendations on residential aged care funding, including models for the Multi-Purpose Services Program and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program.

• Continuing the development of the Australian Aged Care Costing Standards.

• Publishing costing reports for both residential aged care and Support at Home.
