Victorian aged care provider, BlueCross, has announced Ms Ingrid Harvey as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the planned departure of Mr Rob Putamorsi in February of this year.
BlueCross was established in 1993 and operates residential aged care and home care services throughout Victoria. They acquired Saphire Care in 2018, taking their total number of residences to 32.
Ms Harvey was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of BlueCross since 2019 and has been acting in the role since Mr Putamorsi departed.
BlueCross founding Board Member, Mr David Eccles said the appointment of Ingrid was a testament to the strong internal talent within the organisation.
“Over the past few years, Ingrid has been instrumental in our response to the pandemic, demonstrating a calm and compassionate approach and prioritising the safety and wellbeing of residents, their families and staff,” he said.
“Prior to joining BlueCross, Ingrid held various senior management positions, including in the health, retail and customer service sectors. We expect this varied experience and her thoughtful approach will be valuable assets to lead the next chapter in the BlueCross story.”
In addition, it was announced that Chair, Dr Julie Caldecott, had resigned after 4.5 years of service.
Mr Eccles said that the Board and Executive team would like to thank Julie for her contribution, noting her significant role in the BlueCross response to the Aged Care Royal Commission and her commitment to coaching and building a strong leadership team.
“She has left a legacy of ensuring quality clinical governance and her efforts, integrity and commitment to residents, families and staff, has been exemplary,” he said.
“BlueCross is committed to having the right skills and experience on the Board and has immediately commenced the search to fill this important role of independent Chair.”
Ms Harvey said she was delighted to be appointed CEO and was looking forward to building on the great work undertaken by Mr Putamorsi before her.
“We have an incredible community at BlueCross, committed to continuous improvement and placing those we support at the centre of everything we do,” she said.
“With many great initiatives underway, it will be an exciting time for the organisation.”
