SilVR Adventures, the Australian company making waves in aged care with virtual reality (VR), has taken a bold step into China. Partnering with Sindora Living, SilVR is bringing immersive VR experiences to older adults, creating new opportunities for connection, engagement, and well-being.
Sindora Living isn’t your typical aged care facility. Spanning nearly 20,000 square metres, it features 224 modern apartments and 400 beds. It is the first seniors living facility in Asia by parent company Keppel Ltd. (SGX:BN4).
With a strong focus on autonomy and community, Sindora Living is redefining what ageing can look like in China.
“The latest data reveals that China’s average life expectancy has reached 78.6 years. Projections suggest that by about 2035, the number of people aged 60 or above in China will exceed 400 million, accounting for more than 30 percent of the total population.”

That’s where SilVR Adventures comes in. Recognising the power of VR to open up new worlds for residents—whether that’s revisiting childhood streets, travelling to places they’ve always dreamed of, or simply enjoying a shared experience with friends—Sindora Living saw an opportunity to elevate its care approach.
One of the things that makes SilVR Adventures stand out is its extensive library of experiences in 30 languages, including Mandarin and Cantonese – both spoken in China, with Cantonese more popular in the southern provinces.
From guided virtual tours of famous landmarks to reminiscence therapy designed to spark meaningful memories, the technology is proving to be far more than just entertainment—it’s a way to improve mental well-being and social connections.
“At Sindora Living, we want our residents to feel engaged, regardless of physical or cognitive limitations. VR is a fantastic tool that helps us achieve that by offering experiences that stimulate the senses and encourage interaction. Our partnership with SilVR Adventures is a perfect fit.”
Nathaniel Farouz, Managing Director of Senior Living at Keppel.

According to the team at SilVR Adventures, this partnership is just the beginning. The success at Sindora Living, following SilVR’s national roll-out with St. Luke’s ElderCare in Singapore, has set the stage for the wider adoption of VR in senior care across APAC. As the demand for innovative, engaging aged care solutions grows.
