Dementia Australia has launched a new Diversity Small Grant program to raise awareness and understanding of dementia in Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

With grants up to $30,000, eligible organisations can apply until October 11 for funding to develop culturally relevant dementia awareness activities.

“Dementia Australia is committed to working towards an inclusive future where all people impacted by dementia receive the care and support they need, in ways that are culturally appropriate.”

Dementia Australia CEO Professor Tanya Buchanan

The initiative is designed to address higher dementia rates among First Nations people and the significant percentage of dementia cases in people from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Successful applicants will receive funding, professional dementia information sessions, and ongoing support from Dementia Australia. For more information, visit dementia.org.au
