First sod turned on $7.8 million Resthaven Chiton development

Resthaven has broken ground on its $7.8 million development at their 7-star energy-rated Resthaven Chiton Retirement Living village, situated south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Resthaven CEO Darren Birbeck, alongside Executive Manager Mel Ottaway, led the ceremony, joined by Brown Falconer Managing Director Mario Dreosti, and Kennett Builders’ James Kennett and Anthony Carbone. However, the event’s most important guests were the village’s residents, with Committee President Janine Wells taking part in the ceremonial turning of the turf.

“It’s really going to enhance the 29-units that are already here; It’s a wonderful community, like a second family almost. We’re very lucky.”

The project will add 11 new retirement units, a garden reserve, and a parking area for caravans.

CEO Darren Birbeck highlighted the continued focus on sustainability, stating that the new landscaping would feature environmentally conscious plantings to align with the village’s green credentials.
