For Purpose Aged Care Australia (FPACA) has announced a major strategic investment in aged care software platform Acredia, committing significant funding to accelerate research and development and position the system as Australia’s most advanced care management platform.

The investment will support an ambitious R&D-led transformation of Acredia, including a complete redevelopment of the platform, a modern cloud-native technology rebuild, and the integration of advanced artificial intelligence across clinical, operational and compliance functions. FPACA will also explore the potential acquisition of other care management systems to create a larger, innovation-driven digital platform for the aged care sector.

FPACA Group chief executive Matt Filocamo said the investment reflects a long-term commitment to improving care delivery through technology.

“We believe Acredia will redefine what’s possible in aged care software through relentless R&D,” Mr Filocamo added.

Acredia founder Charles Chang said the partnership provides the scale and freedom needed to rethink aged care technology from the ground up.

“Our goal is to create the most intelligent and intuitive aged care software platform ever built in Australia,” Mr Chang said.

“With FPACA’s backing, we’re prioritising R&D to deliver a modern architecture, a world-class user experience and deeply embedded AI that sets a new benchmark for the industry.”

While Acredia already supports a growing number of residential aged care providers, FPACA said the investment is aimed at addressing long-standing challenges with fragmented and outdated legacy systems across the sector.

The redeveloped platform will focus on three core pillars: a research-led rebuild to ensure continuous innovation; AI-powered decision support, predictive insights and automation to reduce documentation burden and improve outcomes; and a redesigned user experience informed by extensive user research to better support care staff.

For Purpose Investment Partners managing director Victoria Adams said strong digital systems are essential to quality care.

“Robust systems empower staff to focus on care delivery, not data entry,” Ms Adams said.

“This investment gives Acredia a dedicated R&D runway to ensure ongoing innovation and reliability for providers who want confidence that their care management system is the best available,” she added.

As part of the transformation, Acredia will expand its client base and invite progressive aged care providers to participate in its development community. Participating organisations will gain early access to new AI-enabled tools, workflow automation and advanced analytics, while helping shape the future of care management technology.
