For Purpose Investment Partners (FPIP) and For Purpose Aged Care Australia (FPACA) have secured a landmark Social Loan with Bank Australia, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) and National Australia Bank (NAB), while simultaneously strengthening FPACA’s executive leadership team ahead of its next growth phase.

The Social Loan, FPIP’s first senior debt social loan, aligns with the Asia Pacific Loan Markets Association (APLMA) Social Loan Principles, an international standard for social impact lending.

Funds from the loan will support FPACA to build and operate quality residential aged care homes across Australia, with a strong focus on regional and underserved communities.

FPIP Managing Director Victoria Adams said the transaction marked a significant milestone for the organisation and reflected growing confidence in FPACA’s model.

“This is our first senior debt Social Loan, and it cements our position as a leader in impact investing in Australia, backed by three banks that share our commitment to older Australians and regional communities,” Ms Adams said.

The banks involved said the partnership demonstrated how sustainable finance could deliver tangible social outcomes.

Bank Australia Head of Impact Lending Tim Von Ess said supporting access to safe, dignified aged care aligned strongly with the bank’s purpose.

“As a customer-owned bank, our customers want their money to be a force for good. Partnering with FPIP and FPACA allows us to help deliver high-quality aged care in regional Australia, benefiting residents, families and staff,” he said.

CBA General Manager, Major Client Group Craig McQuillen said the loan recognised FPIP and FPACA’s commitment to improving access to aged care in communities with heightened need, while NAB State Director, Corporate Health Dale Pattison said the collaboration highlighted the role finance can play in addressing aged care and housing challenges.

Alongside the financing announcement, FPACA has appointed Gregg Funston as Chief Operating Officer and Rebecca Gill as General Manager, Strategy and Performance, strengthening its leadership team as the organisation continues to expand nationally.

FPACA Group CEO Matthew Filocamo said the appointments reflected a deliberate focus on building strong operational and strategic foundations.

“Through the acquisitions of Luson and Signature Care, we now operate more than 2,000 beds nationally,” Mr Filocamo said.

Mr Funston joins FPACA from Regis Aged Care, where he held senior operational roles for 15 years, overseeing 35 homes, 4,800 beds and more than 6,000 staff. He will lead FPACA’s residential operations, with a focus on quality, governance and operational readiness.

Ms Gill joins from Teach For Australia, following more than a decade at Boston Consulting Group. She will lead FPACA’s strategy, transformation and performance functions, including major systems upgrades and the integration of future acquisitions.

Mr Filocamo said together, the Social Loan and leadership appointments positioned FPACA to deliver sustainable growth and meaningful social impact.
