Residential aged care and retirement living services in Esperance have officially transitioned to Western Australian not-for-profit provider Juniper, marking a new chapter for the region’s aged care sector.

The transition of the Esperance Aged Care Facility (EACF), which operates the town’s residential aged care home and retirement village, follows the organisation’s announcement in April that Juniper had been selected as its preferred partner after a comprehensive evaluation process.

EACF Board Chair Mick Curnow said Juniper was chosen because of its strong alignment with the organisation’s values and its proven experience delivering aged care services across regional Western Australia.

“Juniper has a long history supporting regional communities and has committed to ensuring local voices continue to be heard through an Esperance Advisory Body,” Mr Curnow said.

He said the advisory body would help shape local priorities while providing guidance and insight to support positive outcomes for the Esperance community.

“We are confident residents will continue to receive excellent care from people they know and trust, while also benefiting from Juniper’s deep experience in aged care across Western Australia,” he added.

Juniper Chief Executive Officer Russell Bricknell said the organisation was pleased to become part of the Esperance community and recognised its longstanding commitment to caring for older residents.

“Juniper is delighted to be joining a community that has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to caring for its ageing population.”

He said the organisation’s priority was ensuring continuity of care for residents while supporting staff to continue delivering compassionate, high-quality services.

“The EACF team has been wonderful throughout the transition, ensuring continuity of care for residents, and will continue to provide that same compassionate, high-quality care into the future,” he added.

Mr Bricknell also acknowledged the support of the EACF Board and the wider Esperance community throughout the transition process.

Juniper is one of Western Australia’s largest not-for-profit aged care providers, with a significant presence across regional and remote communities. The organisation delivers residential aged care, retirement living, transition care, and home and community support services throughout the state.
