Natalie Siegel-Brown appointed Inspector-General of Aged Care

The Australian Government has appointed Natalie Siegel-Brown as the first statutory Inspector-General of Aged Care.

In this new role, she will oversee the aged care system, ensuring accountability, transparency, and better outcomes for older Australians.

In a release, Aged Care Minister Anika Wells highlighted Ms Siegel-Brown’s extensive experience in regulatory and advocacy roles, emphasising her ability to drive systemic improvements in aged care.

“The Inspector-General of Aged Care plays a critical role in ensuring there is appropriate oversight to systemic issues across the sector – be it around funding, regulation, administration or delivery of care to older people.”

Ms Siegel-Brown brings extensive experience in public administration, regulation, and social justice. She has held leadership roles in government and non-profit sectors, including positions at the Office of the Public Guardian and as a Commissioner in various regulatory bodies.

Known for her expertise in safeguarding vulnerable communities, she has worked on human rights, governance, and systemic reform initiatives, particularly in aged care and child protection services.
