Professor Anna Peeters appointed CEO of VicHealth

Professor Anna Peeters

Global public health expert Professor Anna Peeters has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth).

Professor Peeters, a Deakin Distinguished Professor and Director of the Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University, brings decades of experience in public health and health promotion. She is also a Professor in Epidemiology and Equity in Public Health and has been internationally recognised for her contributions to equitable health outcomes.

With a long-standing association with VicHealth, Professor Peeters was a VicHealth Research Fellow in 2003 and served on the VicHealth Board for over five years. She has pioneered research in healthier food retail environments, receiving a Churchill Award in 2014 for her innovative work in equity and population prevention.

She will officially step into the CEO role in the coming months.
