The Australian Digital Health Agency is hosting an Information Session on Monday, 15 July 2024, at the Hellenic Club in Woden, Canberra. The event aims to inform stakeholders and potential partners about the Agency’s transformative vision for national digital health infrastructure.
Amanda Cattermole PSM, the Agency’s CEO, says that digital health is not just about technology but about revolutionising healthcare delivery and experiences. “By leveraging data and digital technologies, we aim to improve individual health outcomes, reduce the strain on the healthcare workforce, and support strategic planning and investment,” Cattermole shared.
Peter O’Halloran, Chief Digital Officer, highlighted that the session will provide insights into the Agency’s digital health infrastructure and the unified architecture needed for connected healthcare.
“We are modernising the My Health Record system, transitioning from a clinical document repository to a data-rich platform based on the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard, ensuring seamless health data connectivity across the system,” O’Halloran explained.
The Agency’s recent successes include the establishment of a new API Gateway and the transition to cloud storage. The next step involves implementing a new FHIR-based repository to enhance the My Health Record system.
O’Halloran encouraged industry professionals and potential partners to register for the session and submit questions in advance. “Attendees will have the chance to ask questions and provide feedback, helping shape our procurement activities and market engagement approach,” he added.
Register for the session by 5 PM (AEST) on Wednesday, 10 July 2024, via the Agency’s website. All questions will be taken in advance through Slido, with details available on the website. A recording of the session, along with questions and answers, will be published on digitalhealth.gov.au after the event.
