VMCH has announced a significant expansion of its retirement living portfolio by acquiring Point Cook Village in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

The established community, previously owned by RCA Villages, consists of 257 independent living units and 24 apartments. Located in Wyndham, Victoria’s fastest-growing Local Government Area, the acquisition increases VMCH’s retirement living portfolio to 868 homes across 16 communities statewide.

Point Cook Village, spanning 13 hectares, offers residents access to a modern clubhouse, swimming pool, and bowling green, and is situated near the scenic Point Cook Coastal Park.

VMCH CEO Sonya Smart said the acquisition aligns with the organisation’s strategic objectives and ensures ongoing housing options for Victoria’s rapidly ageing population.

“VMCH already has a significant retirement presence in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs. This investment allows us to expand our reach into the west and offer residents other established local VMCH services, including home care and residential aged care, should the need arise.”

The for-purpose Catholic organisation is committed to a smooth transition, with the existing Committee of Management continuing to oversee operations and key village staff remaining in place to support residents.

“We are working to ensure there is as little disruption as possible for residents,” Ms Smart added.

VMCH provides support to more than 10,000 people across Victoria and southern NSW through services including Retirement Living, Residential Aged Care, At-Home Aged Care, Affordable Homes, and Disability Services.

The sale of Point Cook Village was finalised on 5 February 2025.
