After serving in the Rhodesian Air Force John joined Price Waterhouse and qualified as a Chartered Accountant before migrating to Australia. After leaving PW, he spent 8 years as the Finance Executive for Heytesbuty Holdings, the private company of Robert Holmes a’ Court. Since then he has held executive and board roles across many industry sectors, including aged care and retirement living, private equity, funds management, information technology and biotech. For 13 years John worked in the aged care and retirement living sector as the CFO for Bethanie and Chief Finance, Property and Development Officer at Baptistcare. In 2018 he established Grandton Limited to pursue his then-8-year vision that reimagined senior living. This vision is now coming to reality with the construction of Grandton Applecross in Perth, Western Australia – a project which is challenging the existing paradigm within the aged care and retirement living sector. John is a published author of The Rhodesian Civil War(1966-1979), A Desert Rat Story and RETRIBUTION.
