Estia Health expands Brisbane footprint with Vacenti Aged Care acquisition

Estia Health has confirmed the acquisition of Vacenti Aged Care’s seven Brisbane homes, strengthening its presence in Queensland.

The deal includes six operating homes in Hamilton, Coorparoo, Carindale, Mount Gravatt East, Victoria Point and Birkdale, along with a new home nearing completion in Cleveland. Estia Health is expected to assume operations from mid-October.

The acquisition will add around 750 residential aged care places to Estia’s portfolio, complementing its existing home in Albany Creek and facilities across the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

“We are delighted to increase our commitment of care and services for older people in Brisbane. This acquisition allows us to expand our presence and continue offering person-centred care across more communities.”

Mr Bilton emphasised that there will be no change to existing arrangements for Vacenti residents, and all current staff will be retained. “We want to assure residents and their families that they will continue to receive the same dedicated care from the same people they always have,” he said. “We are proud to continue the legacy established by the Casagrande family and will work closely with Vacenti to ensure a smooth transition.”

This week, Estia Health and Vacenti management teams met with residents, families and employees to outline the transition process and answer questions. Both organisations stressed their shared commitment to continuity of care and support throughout the changeover.

Vacenti CEO Julian Casagrande said the decision reflected confidence in Estia’s ability to carry forward the organisation’s long-standing values. “We are proud of our family’s legacy of providing dedicated care in Brisbane for over five decades,” he said. “We are confident that Estia Health will continue to uphold the values and standards that residents and staff know and trust. Our priority has always been ensuring continuity of care, and we are pleased Estia shares this commitment.”

Estia Health now operates 87 residential aged care homes across Australia, positioning it as one of the country’s leading providers. The company said the acquisition reinforces its strategy to grow in key markets while maintaining a focus on quality, individualised care for older Australians.
