Introducing the SilVR Impact Excellence Award: Recognising innovations in healthcare

In a bid to celebrate the remarkable efforts of healthcare professionals and their innovative use of technology, SilVR Adventures has unveiled the SilVR Impact Excellence Award. This accolade, featuring a top prize of a $2,000 Flight Centre Gift Card, aims to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of healthcare workers, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the award prize, Inside Ageing will also offer 2 x free tickets (valued at $1050 each) to attend the inaugural Future of Ageing Conference & Awards, which will be held on August 29 in Sydney. The event comprises both an awards presentation dinner and a daytime conference designed to empower leaders and future leaders in aged care – view the preliminary program here.

Inspired by insights from a paper published by Appellon titled “Helpless to Hopeful: Improved Organisational Culture, Staff Wellbeing, and Quality of Care,” the SilVR Impact Excellence Award aims to highlight the transformative power of virtual reality (VR) in fostering social connection and enhancing the quality of life for individuals, especially in aged care settings.

The award invites all SilVR Adventures customers to share their stories of utilising VR technology to create meaningful and impactful experiences. From themed events to personalised virtual tours, submissions are expected to showcase creativity and innovation in leveraging VR to improve staff engagement and resident wellbeing.

Judged by a panel of experts from SilVR Adventures’ Board of Advisors, the submissions will be assessed for their significance and impact. Submissions are open until July 26th, 2024, offering participants an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the positive effects of VR in healthcare.
