An Inclusive Health and Ageing website resource supporting best diversity practices for health and aged care providers is now available.
The resource, delivered with funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health, provides the latest research and information for health professionals working with people from diverse backgrounds, including a series of videos designed to provide instruction.
Bolton Clarke Principal Advisor Wellness and Reablement Kath Paine said understanding the intersection of diversity characteristics helps professionals better support people’s individual needs.
“We know person-centred care considers an individual’s needs, preferences and values, drawing on their strengths to enhance participation in their healthcare,” she said.
“The Inclusive Health and Ageing website helps professionals deliver person-centred care by bringing together a variety of information, resources and research from within the industry to help continue to drive best practice.”
The website includes:
• Information from peak bodies, advocacy groups and other organisations.
• Resources for health professionals and consumers
• Information, resources, and educational programs for health professionals working with people
from diverse backgrounds
• Research papers, reports, reviews and guidelines providing a deeper, evidence-based
perspective
