Personalised playlists help residents tune into life

Amana Living is rolling out a new program that will see people with dementia have personalised music playlists available through ipods.

‘Tune into Life’ is a program designed to help older people with dementia, based on increasing research that shows the power of music in helping to stimulate and connect memories, and ease people’s agitation and anxiety.

The not-for-profit provider has asked the local community to donate unwanted iPod shuffles or make a donation to help buy devices needed so that each of the 65 residents can have their own device and earphones.
