WA to mandate aged care workers are vaccinated against COVID-19

As reported by the Australian Financial Review, the McGowan government has pledged to mandate that aged care workers are to be vaccinated.

Mr McGowan said the mandatory vaccinations would commence from August and the workers would be offered the Pfizer vaccine, the preferred choice of many.

WA is the first state to commit to mandatory vaccination of aged care workers and is in contrast to advice from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee who argues that a significant number of workers may quit rather than be forced to be vaccinated.

  1. Good morning. I am one of those aged care workers and am currently arranging my exit from aged care sector as I wont take any of the covid injections for a pay packet. Thank you for your reporting kind regards Kristine
