Lifeview receives inaugural Bob Harvey Award for keeping pets and seniors together

Lifeview is celebrating its joint receipt of the inaugural Bob Harvey Award from the Society for Companion Animal Studies (SCAS). The award is a tribute to the memory of Bob, who fought to stay with his beloved dog, Darcie.

The prestigious Bob Harvey Award recognises and honours care homes, hospices, and care facilities that go the extra mile to preserve the vital bond between humans and their pets.

In the above video, Lifeview shared the story of resident Paul Debar and his faithful companion, Bonny, residing at Willow Wood. They highlighted the organisation’s efforts to help residents keep their pets when transitioning to a Lifeview home.

Lifeview’s commitment to being a pet-friendly aged care provider is evident across all its homes, including Argyle Court in Chelsea, Emerald Glades in Emerald, The Willows in Wheelers Hill, and Willow Wood in Cranbourne. The organisation collaborates with new residents to facilitate their pets’ transition into care.

You should not also have to give up that relationship you have with your pet

The organisation continues to work closely with the Companion Animal Network Australia to promote the value of pets in aged care and educate others in the sector.
